Gwen Martin
Gwen and her husband Mike have lived in Williamsburg for 38 years. Together they have 3 married children and 7 grandchildren. Her career background is in secondary school Christian education (M.A.Ed.) with 24 years of experience as a classroom teacher and administrator. She has been a member at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church since 2009 and has formerly served as Women’s Ministry Coordinator and summer Women’s Bible study leader.
Currently, Gwen leads Kairos Eight25, a monthly support group for women struggling with infertility, miscarriage, or infant loss. She is also the facilitator of the Women’s Shepherding Team ministry and leads the “Hope For The Heart - Lifeline to Hope” video training series. She has completed the Formation Certificate with Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation as well as other CCEF classes. Members of the Women’s Shepherding Team are engaged in similar and ongoing training opportunities.
Gwen’s ministry goal is to equip women in the church with skills that are helpful for interpersonal conversational ministry and for walking alongside a sister-in-Christ who is struggling with challenging circumstances.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
Who comforts us in all our troubles,
so that we can comfort those in any trouble with
the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ,
so also our comfort abounds through Christ.”
