Worship

Christians are called to worship God in every moment of life as we all live "coram deo" -  before the face of God. God also calls us to worship him corporately, as his gathered people, each week. Our Sunday morning worship service is a time for us to be spiritually renewed by calling out to God in prayer, singing praises to our God, hearing from God through his word read and preached, and celebrating Communion.

Everyone is invited to our Sunday worship: the convinced, the skeptical, the doubting, and the ambivalent. The joyful and the mourning. The struggling and the repentant. Come worship with us!

What to expect

Casual Atmosphere

When you visit Grace Covenant, wear whatever you want to wear. We have a very broad variety of dress styles, so you won’t feel out of place unless, of course, you come wearing formal evening wear or a masquerade costume.

Friendly People

Grace Covenant has a family-like atmosphere. We strive to maintain a warm and welcoming environment. We want our guests to feel comfortable. We won’t make you wear a visitor badge, stand up, or stand out in any way. We just want you to feel at home.

Family Environment

We believe families are important to God, so they are important to us.

Children are welcome to participate during our services. Their participation grows out of a biblical tradition and a conviction that children are members of God’s covenant community.

But we also have excellent programs for kids during our services, including:

  • Clean and safe nurseries for birth through 2 years.
  • Children’s Church for kids ages 3 years thru 5 years.
  • Beginning Catechism Club for children in Kindergarten - thru - 1st Grade
  • Primary Catechism Club for children in 2nd and 3rd grades.
  • Children's Church and Catechism Clubs meet during the sermon portion of our service.

music

Grace Covenant music is a convergence of traditional and contemporary,  Appalachian and Celtic, hymns, songs, and tunes. We find a depth and a richness, beyond nostalgia, in the old hymns of the faith. Yet we rejoice that God is still inspiring faithful and gifted songwriters and artists today. Therefore, in any of our worship services you may find some combination of the old familiar songs, old hymns recomposed to contemporary arrangements, as well as newer songs with rich substantive lyrics and singable melodies.
